No matter where you go, no matter what you do change is constant and it’s all around you. Some changes are small and you can just roll with them, while bigger changes can be more challenging to deal with. We all have moments where we experience change in many areas of our lives, like where you live, your beliefs, your career, your health, your friendships and the list goes on.
Sometimes you choose to make those changes willingly and sometimes they are forced upon you from the outside. In either case, it can be a struggle for you to embrace change and have to reinvent yourself or at the very least, figure out how to adjust to the change. Feelings of fear, despair and confusion can coexist with feelings of excitement and anticipation.
“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” – Maya Angelou
Regardless of what changes you experience, the most important thing is to stay positive while going through the change. So what sparks the need for change? Sometimes it’s subtle, like a landmark birthday telling you your life should change. Or, it can be something as obvious and beyond your control such as a job loss or a relationship ending.
Maybe it’s just a strong gut feeling that tells you things will need to change because what you’re currently doing no longer fits into your life. Regardless of the circumstance, it’s a sign that this is a stage in your life that requires change and you need to learn to embrace it! You’re greatest (personal) growth will lie beyond your comfort zone, so don’t be afraid to make those changes.
