Do You Resist Change or Embrace It?

We all have moments where we experience change in many areas of our lives…where we live, our beliefs, our careers, our health, our friendships and the list goes’ on. We sometimes choose to make those changes willingly and sometimes they are forced upon us from the outside. In either case, it can be a struggle for us to embrace change and have to reinvent ourselves. Feelings of fear, despair and confusion can coexist with feelings of excitement and anticipation. Regardless of what changes we experience the most important thing is to stay positive while going through the change. So, what sparks the need for change? Sometimes it’s subtle, like a landmark birthday telling us our life should change. Or, it can be something as obvious and beyond our control such as a job loss or a relationship ending. Or maybe it’s just a strong gut feeling that tells us things will need to change because what we’re currently doing no longer fits into our life. Regardless of the circumstance, it’s a sign that this is a stage in our life that requires change and we need to learn to embrace it!

Do You Resist Change or Embrace It?

Change can be a great teacher if you learn to embrace it. It’s about learning to accept the change, looking at it from a different perspective and then adjusting your attitude. By going through changes, you embark on a brand-new chapter of growth and realization in your life. The Universe has a way of telling you that you’ve grown stagnant or have gotten off course.

While you might not always enjoy the way in which the message is delivered, it serves as a wake-up call and your first step is to try to find the positive inside the situation. By taking a positive approach, you make a deliberate choice to embrace change, even though you may nevertheless experience moments of fear, despair and even anger.

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” – Maya Angelou

There’s no limitation on the number of feelings or how often you may experience them. Having a number of emotions is normal and healthy. They’re a part of the growing pains felt while adapting to change. New and various patterns, people and situations are bound to affect you emotionally on some level. How you allow those emotions to affect you will determine how you receive the change.

Your body and mind talk to you through emotions and that’s a positive thing. By expressing emotions and enhancing them you keep the energy flowing, otherwise it would stay bottled up and buried, resulting in depression, nervousness and even physical issues. Don’t resist change, embrace it and make whatever changes you need to get yourself to financial freedom!
