How to Feed Your Mind with Powerful Thoughts

“The past could only control your present and future through your mind. So, by all means, guard your mind with the gate of positivity.” – Edmond Mbiaka

It seems like too many people go through their day not giving much consideration to things that can affect how they think and feel. You might not even realize the thoughts and ideas you have going through your mind every day. Actually, every second of every day, which is what causes you to make the decisions that you make and the actions that you take in all aspects of your life.

Those thoughts and ideas you have are very much influenced by the things you hear and see going on around you, from the television, to social media, to things you read or hear. Whether you want to believe it or not, those seemingly minor things play a major role in your life. Where you currently are in your life and where you want to go, is a direct reflection of what you feed your mind.

How to Feed Your Mind with Powerful Thoughts

Whatever you feed your mind with, you start to believe it whether it’s good or bad and once you start to believe it you make it your reality. You have to become the gate keeper of your mind, constantly guarding what goes in, because what goes in comes back out in the words that you speak and the things that you do, which ultimately leads to the results you get.

Garbage in gives you garbage out! If you’re not careful about the thoughts that you allow into your mind, either from yourself or others, you’ll have life control you instead of you having control of your life. By making a conscious effort to fill yourself up with positive influences however and whenever you can, you’ll start to experience positive results in your life.

“The more you feed your mind with positive thoughts, the more you can attract great things into your life.” – Roy Bennett

So, what does it mean to feed your mind? And how do you go about doing it? It’s actually not as hard as you may think. There are so many different ways to get good, positive thoughts and ideas into your mind. Believe it or not, the most difficult part is choosing which way will work best with your individual circumstance, personality and lifestyle.

Once you get that figured out, the rest is just a matter of implementing the habit or habits into your daily routines. The main objective is to be proactive by making the decision to work on it daily, even if you do it in small intervals. Little progress is better than no progress. Just remember that the results you get are in direct proportion to the effort you give it.

It doesn’t matter what method you choose, whether you read books or articles, listen to audio books or podcasts, watch videos of motivational or inspirational speakers, as long as what you’re reading, hearing watching, etc. is positive food for your mind. The key is taking action to feed yourself positive thoughts and ideas, regardless of how small it may be and being consistent with it.

If reading is what works for you, start with even 10-15 minutes a day until you work up to 30 minutes a day, even if you read for 10-minute intervals three times a day. Listen to an audio book or podcast in the car on your commute to work or while running errands. It’s when you consistently do the small things on a daily basis that will you’ll see big results over time.

“Your thoughts are the architects of your destiny.” – David O. McKay

What you think and how you think will either set you up for success or hold you back from it. It all starts with feeding your mind with positive, uplifting thoughts and ideas through books, audio and video just to name a few. The more that you’re able to feed your mind in those ways, the more you’ll be able to guard your mind from negative, self defeating thoughts.

The things you consistently fill your mind with will eventually overflow regardless of whether they’re positive or negative. Your thoughts will come out in the words you speak and the words you speak will determine the things that you do and the things you do will give you the results that you get. In the end, positive thoughts produce positive results, negative thoughts produce negative results.

Of course, just because you keep yourself primed with positivity doesn’t mean nothing around you will go wrong. That is unrealistic, but the truth is that even though you may not be able to control everything that goes on around you, you can control how you react to what goes on around you, which starts with what you choose to feed your mind.

You’ll find that the quality of your life is determined by the quality of your thoughts, so it only makes sense to pay close attention and make a deliberate effort to guard and feed your mind with good, positive thoughts on a daily basis. Your success, including your financial success will be up to you, by deciding how and what you will feed your mind with. Make it count!
