What it Means to Have Confidence

Have Confidence

“When you’re different, sometimes you don’t see the millions of people who accept you for what you are. All you notice is the person who doesn’t.”
― Jodi Picoult

Confidence is a quality, seen by others, as being anywhere from admirable to intimidating. Where you fall into that spectrum is partially due to your own level of confidence. What is confidence? Does having confidence mean that you have specific knowledge, necessary skills or certain abilities? Although some or all of those qualities may help, they’re not necessary for you to have it.

Despite what some people may believe, it is possible to have confidence in yourself even though you may not be competent in any specific area. It comes from how you feel about yourself and your abilities. With that being said, what you don’t want is to go to one extreme by believing you are better than you really are in a specific area which just comes off as arrogant.

On the other hand, you also don’t want to go to the other extreme and feel as though you have no worth and have a low self-esteem. This is where emotional intelligence and being self-aware help keep that balance and allow you to have a healthy self-confidence. It has to do with feeling good about who you are and the abilities you have while being realistic about it.

Having confidence is to know your own self-worth and ability no matter what the situation is that you’re dealing with. So don’t sell yourself short by underestimating yourself and what you can do! If you’re going to reach for a higher level of financial well-being, it is something you are going to need to reach your goals. Believe in yourself, take action and build your confidence!

“If you have a dream, don’t just sit there. Gather courage to believe that you can succeed and leave no stone unturned to make it a reality.” ― Dr Roopleen

Every person has a certain level of confidence in them self. That level mostly comes from having knowledge, skills and abilities in specific areas. Even though you don’t necessarily need specific knowledge, skills or abilities to have confidence, those things are very beneficial for building it up, so that you can take your life to the next level.

No matter what your confidence level is, you can always build and improve it. Now, before you can start to build it, the most important thing you will need is to have belief in yourself. Belief that you can handle whatever comes your way. Once you have that, investing in yourself to gain specific knowledge and skills is one way to help build your confidence.

Another way to help boost confidence is to know your strengths and weaknesses. And to use and improve your strengths to your advantage. When working on building your confidence, it’s actually more productive and useful to improve and get better at the things that you are already good at or feel strong while doing them. Believe it or not, taking risks is also another way to increase confidence.

Taking calculated risks, by having a plan, will give you the invaluable experience of learning what to do and what not to do. Whatever tools or techniques you use to gain and build your confidence will take practice. And like all things in life, you will only get better at it with practice. Work on building your confidence and know that with the right amount of it you can achieve your financial goals!

“To become, you must first believe.” ― Lailah Gifty Akita

No one is born with confidence. Confidence is created! And it’s created by you, through believing and doing. It’s something you must have to be able to achieve your goals. Having and gaining confidence is so essential to success in any area of your life including your own financial success. Building and gaining confidence is not an easy process, but with patience and practice it can and must be done.

There will be a lot of things that you’ll have to overcome from the fear of failing to limiting beliefs, to other people trying to undermine your dreams and vision. There may also be times when you battle with the idea that you’re not worthy or capable of financial freedom. Those ideas usually stem from your belief in what you can and can’t do as well as your setbacks and failures.

But just always remember that no matter what mistakes you’ve made or short falls you’ve experienced, that you are just as deserving as anyone else to achieve high levels of financial success. Success of any kind isn’t achieved by people who never make mistakes or never failed. In fact, the opposite is true. The people who succeed are the ones who’ve failed the most.

Mistakes and failures are a part of the journey on the road to success. Working through your mistakes and failures by learning from them and overcoming them is how you will build your confidence. The more you do that, the more confident you will become. You have to first start by believing in yourself. Have confidence, work on building and improving it, don’t give up and the rest will follow!
